Favorite Flavor:
French Vanilla- although I haven't met a flavor I don't like.
How do you have fun (hobbies, sports, vacations, etc.)?
Travel is my ultimate “fun” thing to do. I also love to spend time outdoors- walking, gardening, even lounging in the shade reading. I also love to write, shop, and take photos.
If you could travel back in time, what era would you live in?
I'm not sure I'd want to, since I like the 'now', but I think the 20's would be interesting. Things seemed much more simple back then.
What’s your favorite meal? Do you cook?
I adore cooking and love to experiment with many different types of cuisine. I love so many foods but specialty sushi would probably be amongst my favorites... I also love Cajun food.
What holiday do you most look forward to, and why?
Christmas. It's the perfect time to spend with family and friends, although I love any time that I can spend with family and friends.
The past week or so, I’ve noticed that Spring has arrived. It was almost as though everything exploded into life overnight, although I know it wasn’t nearly that dramatic. It was a gradual process, but now that ‘Spring has Sprung’; I find myself sitting outside in the mornings or late afternoon, cup of coffee with a splash of COFFEE-MATE’s Café Latte (my favorite ‘go to’ flavor these days) in hand, enjoying the sights and sounds of Spring. I also find myself wanting to dig out the garden tools and start gardening. I can almost taste the fresh herbs and vegetables now.
Spring, in its simplicity has sparked a desire in me to start planting the garden. This led to the question of: What inspires me?
Immediately I found myself thinking about the obvious things that inspire me- family, friends, that sort of thing. But the more I thought about it, I realized that I couldn’t really put my finger on any one thing. There are things all around that strike a chord of inspiration within me.
Last night, I found inspiration in the form of a bracelet that I put on to wear to the movies. It was one I created several years ago, but it’s now too big (due to weight loss). While looking at it, I remembered how much joy I found in creating a one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. That simple reminder was enough to inspire me to want to pull out the silver, beads and supplies to create something bright and colorful for spring.
Last week, I noticed that my jeans felt a little tight in the behind- which was a reminder that I really need to get back to being true to my body and taking care of me. That inspired me to start exercising and start eating healthy again—something I somewhat let fall to the wayside during the holidays while indulging in sugary treats.
Inspiration varies by person. It can be sparked from many places, people and even gestures by others. Witnessing random (or not so random) acts of kindness sparks inspiration within me (and others) to reach out and do something for someone. Something as simple as smiling at a stranger or letting someone go in front of you in the grocery store line can make a huge difference in the day of another.
Inspiration can come in many forms and can be found all around us if we take a moment to notice.
I’d love to know- What inspires you? After all—you never know when something that has inspired you will spark inspiration within another… and another…
