Favorite Flavor:
French Vanilla- although I haven't met a flavor I don't like.
How do you have fun (hobbies, sports, vacations, etc.)?
Travel is my ultimate “fun” thing to do. I also love to spend time outdoors- walking, gardening, even lounging in the shade reading. I also love to write, shop, and take photos.
If you could travel back in time, what era would you live in?
I'm not sure I'd want to, since I like the 'now', but I think the 20's would be interesting. Things seemed much more simple back then.
What’s your favorite meal? Do you cook?
I adore cooking and love to experiment with many different types of cuisine. I love so many foods but specialty sushi would probably be amongst my favorites... I also love Cajun food.
What holiday do you most look forward to, and why?
Christmas. It's the perfect time to spend with family and friends, although I love any time that I can spend with family and friends.
As I was enjoying breakfast this morning, I browsed through several of my favorite food related magazines for recipe ideas. I always get excited this time of the year- not only because of the upcoming holiday season, but also because of the traditions that I share with family and friends that make this time even more special.
For as long as I can remember, around this time of the year- I gather together with mom and other family members to ‘talk recipes’ and plan menu ideas for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Whose home we have it at varies from year to year, and this year it’s my turn to host.
We gather around with some of our favorite cooking magazines, recipe books, smart phone cooking apps and we plan. Granted- there are some recipes that we don’t have to discuss, such as Aunt Gladys’ stuffing, green bean bundles and pecan pie. Also added to the list as a ‘must have’ is the Pumpkin cheesecake that I made last year with a Sour Cream topping, which included Italian Sweet Crème Coffee-mate. This year- I’m going to switch things up a little and somehow incorporate Pumpkin Spice flavored Coffee-mate instead. Either way, I know it will be a huge hit.
What is your family’s “must have” signature dishes for the holiday season?
This annual time together to plan for the dishes that we will prepare for the holidays season always brings lots of laughter, great fun and food. Plus, to get our creative juices flowing- there’s always plenty of coffee brewed, complete with several flavors of Coffee-mate, to please everyone’s taste buds.
Food, family, fun and great coffee. Could life get any sweeter than this? I don’t think so.
